It's a great conversation starter. "I just got back from the Porn convention in Las Vegas." (Otherwise known as the Adult Entertainment Expo or AVN) Many people don't even ask why. I mean, middle-class hockey mom with three boys ... why would you do that? Instead, they shriek, "What did you wear? What was it like? Were people having sex all around you?"
I think most people expect it to be one massive orgy carnival of porn stars. And it was... except the orgy part. It was absolutely wild -- porn stars everywhere, and fans lining up for hours to get their autographs. There were party tricks aplenty -- like the two porn stars who were playing with a vibrator together (on top of their clothes) in front of a throng of a hundred keen admirers, or the woman with a bodacious fleshy bottom who shook it so fast that it made a very loud clapping sound.
So there we were, selling our soft-core DVD. We sure stood out like a sore thumb between Bubba's House of Ass and the Fleshlight booths. A Fleshlight by the way is a sex toy for men that looks like a flashlight. At the "light" end is an orifice (you get to pick the type of hole you want -- bum-hole, vagina or mouth!) Judging from the number of people sticking their fingers in the rubber demo holes at the booth, it's quite a crowd-pleaser...
But I'll tell you, nothing stops a woman in her tracks better than a Fireman! Forget about holes. We hired a model one day... tore his shirt off, slapped a red helmet on his head --- and this time it was the women's turn to drool. They couldn't get enough of him. What is it about a Fireman? It wasn't the "man in uniform" draw because he barely had one on. Polls show that 47 per cent of women fantasize about having sex with a Fireman. I'd love to hear your thoughts on what makes them so irresistible.
Anyway, the AVN in Vegas was a madhouse of desire, in a way like any other business conference, there was a feverish frenzy to find the hot new item. What a way to launch my new DVD.
